A course, with a documented depth plan.
The skin is assessed for active disease, infection, pigmentation risk, scarring tendency and recent medicines. After cleansing and preparation, the device is passed systematically over the treatment area using a documented depth plan. Pinpoint bleeding can occur at some settings. Only products specifically suitable for the intended topical use are combined with the procedure.
It is used for uneven skin texture, fine lines, enlarged pores, selected superficial acne scarring, dull or photoaged skin and general skin rejuvenation.
Improvement is gradual. Some people notice smoother texture and improved radiance, while scars and deeper lines generally require a course and may not disappear completely. Results depend on skin type, indication, treatment depth and adherence to aftercare.
Treatment is generally deferred with active bacterial, viral or fungal infection, herpes outbreak, inflamed acne, open wounds, an eczema or psoriasis flare, significant keloid tendency, impaired healing, poorly controlled diabetes, significant immunosuppression, suspicious lesions or unacceptable bleeding risk. Recent isotretinoin requires individual consideration.
